Just like my
I decided to take a similar approach to address hypocrisy in the feminist movement. High resolution available to download at the right.
Very few things piss me off more than people who claim to stand for equality and equity, but their actions speak otherwise.
I'm not against feminism, nor do I identify as MRA or anti-feminist. I think it's wonderful to fight for both men's AND women's rights. Just don't be a hypocrite, that's all.
SIDENOTE ABOUT THE STATEMENTS: These are not quotes by anyone in particular. They're ideological statements that can either be said through words or actions. I did this for the following reasons:
1. To minimize the chances of misinterpreting someone's words. This way, the message is very clear.
2. It doesn't matter what the definition or ideological structure of "feminism" is if your actions speak otherwise.
3. Actions may speak louder than words.
The extremely butthurt David Futrelle from We Hunted The Mammoth writes an article on this in a pathetic attempt to mock me: wp.me/p17cYK-42Q Irony much?
Evidence of these statements either said, practiced, or why they're flawed:

Why is this in MensRightsVoices when the rules clearly state that you are not allowed to bash the feminist movement?
It's not bashing the feminist movement. It's exposing hypocrisy and giving criticism on how to fix it. And I don't think I was the one who requested it to be in the group.
My mom its a feminist.
But she points one thing, this people dont respect others and dont follow any logic ideology.
Besides the fact she points the penis envy of this so called feminist.

I know, but it doesn't go beyond to address or resolve any issues that are more than those that specifically affect women. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called "feminism".
I know no feminists who actually believe things this way.
I think this would be the vocal minority not the majority.

I believe they're a minority to. At least, that's what I desperately want to believe. But even if they're a minority, they certainly speak the loudest.
I never said that all feminists believe in these statements, nor did I imply it. In fact, the message of my poster is the exact opposite, and that is there's absolutely nothing wrong with supporting and advocating feminism and women's rights. Just be reasonable and not a hypocrite.

This would be far more effective if you could provide source material/links to the statements being made here. I would like to be able to share this, but until I can point to it and say these are verifiable examples of hypocrisy, I can't.

I understand where you're coming from, and I absolutely agree that it would make the poster much more effective.
But these statements are not direct quotes made by people, but paraphrased beliefs that they abide to. The reason why I took this approach is because these beliefs are not only statements one can verbally make, but take actions that follow them. Verbal messages can be quoted, but actions cannot be.

You mean these are straw-man arguments you created to make yourself feel better for supporting the rights of oppressed rich people....I mean Christians....I mean whites....I mean men....
No, actually. They're hypocritical ideologies that hateful bigots can AND DO have while fighting under the name of equality. You would have seen that in the description, had you have bothered to look, instead of making an ignorant ass comment in a poor attempt to dismiss my message as anti-feminist.
Oh, and you might want to look up what a straw-man argument is before mindlessly throwing the word around and making one yourself. Ironic how you accuse me of making straw-man arguments when your entire comment is one straw-man itself. Here's one to start you off: www.logicallyfallacious.com/in…
Finally, actually take some time and effort to look up any one of those statements. I DARE YOU to tell me that there aren't people who follow those beliefs.

Oh honey. You really don't think that your entire long-winded poster up there is just chock-full of strawman arguments and just... foolishness? (Really? Schools not forcing every girl into a HomeEc-type class on how be a 'good mother' is comparable to the ~heinous feminazi overlord opinion~ that one should tell boys [and everyone] that you, y'know, raping people is terrible and you shouldn't do it?) And did you /really/ pull the 'NO U' defense? This isn't pre-school. And regarding your last sentence: I don't know if you've ever been in a debate, but if you make a claim, it is /your/ responsibility to back it up. To believe otherwise is nonsense.
By the by: I've seen a few people here asking for proof, and you've provided nothing. That doesn't really make your 'argument' look too solid.
(PS: Your 'I CAN'T BE A BIGOT BECAUSE I SAID SO IN MY DESCRIPTION' bit is hilarious.)

Happy reading and watching!
And by the way: When did I ever say anything about me being a bigot? Now THAT is a straw-man argument.
So, I initially browsed your links, took some notes, then got tired and thought 'wow, what a hot load of bullshit', and decided to ignore you. I still think this is all a hot load of bullshit, but hey, the person I'm visiting in the hospital is currently asleep so I don't really have much of substance to do, so why not?
Full disclosure: I'm not going to watch any of the YouTube videos. Videos of things I'm actually interested in feel tedious enough to me as it is (when I watch YouTube I'm almost always multitasking), so I'm not really eager to watch Christina Hoff Sommers condescendingly drone on and on at a camera. I'm much more of the reading type, but hey, if you're so confident in your arguments, the articles should hold themselves up, right? (That doesn't mean I didn't look to see what sort of videos you were trying to show me. Maybe I'll get to that at some point. I'm just kind of winging this to pass the time.)
Also, holy shit. That's some class A document dumping if I've ever seen it. Like, you can source this shit as the perfect example. The YouTube links alone can seal the deal. Really? You send me literal days worth of videos and expect me to, what, watch the hundreds upon hundreds of them? (Quote from the Wiki article: 'The shipment of dumped documents is unsorted, or contains a large quantity of information that is extraneous to the issue under inquiry'.) Not to mention the questionable choices you made: in an attempt to show that you're not anti-feminist, you sent me a bunch of playlists called things like 'Anti-Feminist', 'Lol'ing at Feminism', and 'Feminism is Bullshit', so you already kind of dropped the ball with that one. And you sent me Feminist Frequency playlists because... why? A woman made some videos that you disagreed with? A singular woman? Gasp.
But really. You showed me endless videos about a bunch of dudes complaining about feminism and not actual feminists saying actual things, so you can't actually point at those and go 'LOOK AT THIS FEMINIST'S HYPOCRISY!!'. There's also just a bunch of trite fluff like 'Tropes vs Women in Breakfast Cereal'. And then we get to shit like 'Feminist: Satanic Agenda' and a bunch of videos by The Amazing Atheist (who, by the way, is pretty much the laughingstock of the internet at this point) and I'm just sitting here wondering if I'm still supposed to be taking this seriously. I am legitimately confused by what points you were trying to prove here.
(Sort of extraneous, but I found it hilarious how many GamerGate videos there were considering how often they try to proclaim that they're not about feminism at all.)
Before we get to the articles, to be pedantic: sure, I misread your sentence since I was skimming and assumed you were brushing off accusations of bigotry by saying you weren't in your description. But calling that a strawman argument is showing a severe misunderstanding of what a strawman argument is. I might have misread that, but that'd just mean I was incorrect. That. That's not a strawman??
(Also, A+ job addressing some of my concerns in my comment. And by that I mean A+ job ignoring everything except a mistake and just vomiting up a bunch of links into the comment section instead of trying to, y'know, personally defend your position.)
I'm getting kind of bored, so I'm not promising a direct addressing of every individual article. I'll also be sourcing my notes and, like I said, I was tired by that point. What I can tell you is that literally none of them offer any 'explanations' of 'feminist hypocrisy'. You showed me a bunch of articles about stuff you disagree with. Things written by women that may or may not identify as feminists, just a wall of things you take offence with-- no explanation on why. It 'explains' literally nothing.
To make what I just said absolutely clear: you gave me nothing.
Anyways.
1.) I don't have a penis, so I don't really feel qualified to make a comment on this one. (Which is advice that might be helpful for some other certain people.) To be fair, though, nothing in the article actually said anything about making it 'illegal', just highly discouraged, and I'm not sure how they'd enforce it anyways? Also, the person who made the proposal is a man. Just. Y'know. Throwing that out there. (Also, women do have boxes to put their used tampons in in their stalls, so I don't really know what you're talking about re: the second part of the relevant 'point' on your poster.)
2.) There was actually no proof on what horribly abusive things these feminists boogeymen said, so. Hard to make a judgement on this one. And this isn't evidence inasmuch an anecdote, but all of the feminists I know (including me) think that being a stay-at-home mom/housewife is perfectly okay and awesome as long as that's what the woman personally wants.
3.) Surprise, I actually do think the shirt is pretty sexist. And if you disagree with that, you have to admit it was highly unprofessional to wear during such an important accomplishment. And again, to reiterate: there's no 'explanations' or rebuttals here, you're just showing me something you don't agree with. Nothing about 'hypocrisy' as far as the eye can see.
4.) The actual title says 'generally' instead of 'automatically', which I agree with. If, like the article says, only 2-8% of rape claims are false, it makes much more sense to side with the person who is, statistically, telling the truth. If 10% of car theft reports are fraudulent, we should be seeing more people acting with suspicion to theft claims than rape reports, and yet exactly the opposite is true. As ~GamerGate~ says, 'trust, then verify'. (By the way, did you see the part where there are apparently 400k or so rape kits sitting around, untested and just gathering dust? Shit's terrifying.)
5.) I. I don't understand the point of linking this?? Are you trying to say that all of the people who have come forward and said that Bill Cosby has raped them are liars?? Like, sure, the author does cite rape as penetration, but it could be just because that's what these certain women in this certain circumstance faced. After all, she quickly says 'nobody is truly immune from the threat of it' afterwards, so it's not like they're saying only women can be raped which is the only explanation I can think of for you linking this.
6.) This one was dumb. However, this was just one individual; it doesn't show some huge feminist conspiracy of hypocrisy. I skimmed the comments a bit and didn't see a single person agree with her, so... I'm not even positive she's against jailing women at all (despite the title, which are often written by other people to me eye-catching; her language is too waffling in the article for me to really tell) or just non-violent offenders for people like drug addicts/dealers and prostitutes. (Which I agree with, and believe should apply to men as well.)
7.) I honestly don't know why I'm supposed to find disagreeable in here? 'Ultimately led to him being found guilty of rape, though not in an official court of law, as no charges were ever filed with the police.' Like, I don't know about you, but it seems like he raped someone and got off easy because she didn't go to the police (like many rape victims don't). Even if this was supposed to prove something about false rape accusations, it... didn't, because he's still walking around having a good time with his girlfriend and hardly seems like his life is ruined.
8.) I personally disagree with many of the points brought up by the women featured here.but the article is not actually 'attacking' them for their opinions, just saying they're 'misguided'. (They have a point: being a feminist doesn't mean you can't like muscle cars and beer and bars, or that you hate men, or that you have to be full of uncontrollable anger.) In fact, evil harpy Jezebel's first comment is about how somebody can kinda understand why the label would make someone uncomfortable and there's lots of bemoaning the negative stigma. Most of the others seem to show disappointment, but no rage.
9.) So, uh. What does this prove other than the results of the survey are incredibly creepy and disheartening? Is this supposed to be ~shaming~ or something? Because newsflash: judging rapists and people that think like them are not ~shaming male sexuality~, they're judging someone for being an utter piece of shit. Amazing. Honestly, it greatly disturbs me that you thought this had a place on your list. (By the by: most feminists I know are sex-positive, and that's actually a big thing in third-wave feminism.)
10.) Hooray, you finally showed me something that we can both agree is terrible. Still: the majority of the comments seem to be people saying 'violence is violence and violence is not okay' or people saying that they have hit a partner, but in self-defence. Some of the 'yes'es are even about playful banter between friends. However, to be pedantic, as a commenter from 8 said, Jezebel doesn't brand itself as a feminist site. And while I admittedly didn't read all 439 comments, none of the people from the thread who were actually abusive didn't go '...but it's totally not okay if a guy does it!!' so it still doesn't quite fit your 'feminist hypocrisy' narrative. You just proved that some people who may or may not identify as feminists are pretty damn terrible, which surprises no one. (And no, 'but I'm sure that's what they actually think!!' doesn't work without proof.)
11.) Eh, I agree to some extent. But pretty much anyone who agrees with the 'power+privilege' definition for sexism also holds the same beliefs when it comes to white vs non-white people for racism, cis vs trans people for transphobia, etc., so that's still not hypocrisy. Just another thing you disagree with.
12.) Aaaaand people criticising street harassment towards women justifies anything from your poster how? I do have some criticisms for that video, though: its racial politics are shitty.
13.) Jackie could've actually been raped. Shocker. Still don't know what this is supposed to prove.
So. All you've managed to actually prove is that you have no idea how to debate for yourself, find decent sources, or that you actually have a clue what a strawman argument is. Feel free to try again, but I'm not promising a reply. This was enough of a time-suck as-is.
TL;DR: How many fields did you have to raze to get enough straw for this poster?
Full disclosure: I'm not going to watch any of the YouTube videos. Videos of things I'm actually interested in feel tedious enough to me as it is (when I watch YouTube I'm almost always multitasking), so I'm not really eager to watch Christina Hoff Sommers condescendingly drone on and on at a camera.
You want evidence to back up these statements about feminist hypocrisy and explanations of them? You got it!
I guess I should probably respond to the ones you actually bothered to look at, so here we go:
1. I never said anything about making urinals illegal. I said some want it banned. Big difference. And it doesn't matter if the person making that claim is a man or not. The point is that it was made and with faulty reasoning.
2. It's not about what people specifically said. It's about the reaction they had when she said she didn't identify as a feminist.
3. If what he wore is considered sexist, then I guess this must be as well: i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/522/78… Even then, so fucking what? Being offended by something doesn't give you more rights than others. You're aware that he wore that shirt to celebrate such a scientific achievement? And that it was a symbol of the friendship between him and the one who made it? And guess what? The person who made it was female. The only valid criticism is professional attire. However, there was no focus on that.
4. It doesn't matter if false rape accusations are as low as 2% or as high as 60% (which they have been in the past). You treat every case separately. Not base it on popularity. That's how people get wrongly accused and thrown in jail.
5. This is to support my statements "In situations whenever someone is accused of rape or assault, a woman will always be given the benefit of the doubt, whereas a man will deemed by the public and masses to be “guilty until proven innocent”" and "We want women to be believed on their accusations, claims, and experiences without question, scrutiny, or evidence, based solely on the fact that they’re female." It doesn't matter that 30 people came forward. Accusations are not evidence.
6. It doesn't matter if the opinion is unpopular or only one person expresses it. It goes to show you that people have these opinions and want to take serious action.
7. They're making a big deal that the guy was accused of rape. Not proven. Not convicted. Accused. Again, accusations are not evidence.
8. This supports the statement in the poster "We support everybody's right to choose in the name of equality, yet lose our collective shit when someone chooses to identify as anti-feminist or not a feminist, and accuse them of "not understanding feminism"" Since these women don't want to be identified as feminists, they accuse them of not understanding what it is. And due to the mixed messages many send, who the fuck could blame them?
9. Horribly narrow-sighted and biased. According to the standards that they've laid out, I'M considered to be a rapist, and I've never even thought of or considered doing such as thing.
10. It doesn't matter what the comments say or how many agree with it. The person who wrote this shamelessly mocked the idea that men can be victims of domestic violence. How much do you want to bet that if this were mocking women who are victims of violence it would result in people calling for their heads and wanting to shut down Jezebel altogether? And don't give me the "abuse of women is a common issue" crap. If you stand for equality, then either these types of topics be mocked in all form, or none of them at all. Anything other than that is special treatment.
11. I'm glad we can agree on this, but whether I agree with it or not is irrelevant. Sexism has only one meaning, and that's "discrimination based on gender". That's it. You don't get to change a definition of something because you don't agree with it.
12. It justifies the statement "We want objectification of women in any way to be seen as oppressive and harmful, regardless if it may be respectful, welcome, encouraged, or legal." While you or many people may not enjoy being cat-called, being hit on, complimented on their attractiveness, stare at boobs, etc. there are some that do. It doesn't matter if one likes it or not, because it's still objectification, and not all objectification is bad.
13. So were supposed to automatically believe a person who simply says they've been raped without any evidence to back it up whatsoever? You realize that the story completely fell apart when hard evidence that conflicted her story came to up, right? If that's not a perfect example as to why an accusation is not enough to pass judgement, then I don't know what is.
So yes actually, I CAN debate myself. All you've proven is that you won't accept any evidence that doesn't fit your preconceived idea on feminism, and those people cannot be debated OR reasoned with.

Excuses, excuses. You just openly admitted to not looking into some of the evidence I provided or the ones that you don't personally approve of. That alone makes you completely unqualified to engage in any debate with me on this topic. But yet, you accuse me of being ignorant and uninformed. The level of irony of positively staggering.
You asked for evidence, and I provided it. If you don't approve of it, that's your problem. Oh, and some of the videos I provided were of actual feminists saying some of this shit. Had you have bothered to watch them, you'd have noticed instead of being a pompous ass.
Oh, and I didn't have to find any straw for this poster. The evidence is as plain as day. Unless of course, you've been living under a rock for the past 20 or so years.

Wow. A lot of good points. Some of which I hadn't heard about yet. I'll have to look some of them up later. Thanks for taking the time to make this. If only it was small enough to share on places like 9gag and reddit
Perhaps make a second version smaller in the width and with larger text?
Thank you! Trust me, you'll can find these hypocritical statements pretty easily. Just look up any of those people I said in the description that were despicable.
I tried REALLY HARD to make it as easy to read on a smaller scale. Unfortunately, this was the best I could do if I were to include all the required information. No matter which way I put it, and unless I remove a ton of these statements, you'll have to zoom in, in order to be able to read everything.
And thank you for the favourite!

4th column, second from bottom "regardless of how much at man makes" should be "that man". Also, rightmost column, third from bottom "the woman must always heard clearly" should be "must always be heard".
Other than that, this rocks. Thank you for putting this together.

Thanks for pointing out the typo! The second one is actually not, but I'm glad you noticed.
And thank you!
And thank you!
No, feminism itself isn't bullshit. Just the idiots and hypocrites in the movement that claim to stand for equality.
